Internal medicine primary care physicians are educated in general medical and health needs of adult patients. They provide physical examinations, routine health screenings and preventative care for adults. Family medicine physicians are specially trained to provide primary care for patients of all ages. They offer annual check-ups and age-appropriate screenings and vaccinations, as well as preventive medicine. Family medicine physicians may also have sub-specialty training in adolescent medicine, geriatric medicine and sports medicine.
